Cake spade

WELCOME TO CAKE SPADE

Seeking to professionalize her hobby, Zenn enrolled in the Sunrice Culinary Academy and graduated with a diploma in pastry and bakery arts. On top of that, she clocked in one year of industry exposure as an apprentice with the Shangri-La Hotel pastry team.

She fell in love with baking ten years ago when her mother taught her how to bake her first cake. Her hobby soon become a small home-baking business where she sold her cakes to her family and friends. For eight years, she baked cakes for friends and family and relied on them to refer to new customers. Through the years, her cakes become well-known for their flavors and unique texture. Business gradually grew to the point that she saw the need of getting a bigger oven and a storefront.

Her cake shop may be just 300 sq ft small, but Zenn is thinking big. Her mission is to make cakes light enough to be enjoyed as a daily treat, not just the occasional indulgence.

Love made cakes
It is an important symbol used to mark important celebrations. At cake spade, every bite of a cake is important and every bite must taste good! To achieve the perfect bite, each cake is carefully constructed with different layers, different textures and constructing flavors. Quite rustic and old-fashioned at heart, at Cake Spade, only using the best & fresh ingredients, with no use of chemical stabilizers. Cake spade is one-stop dessert store, and many delectable offerings available for take-out, delivery and catering. Love of handmade cookies, Cake Spade packaging reflects rustic and natural baking philosophy with the use of kraft paper bags and boxes to contain the sweet treats!

Last Saturday noon, my love and i planned to drop by "Department of caffeine". However, due to the massive crowd...we changed our plan and headed to Cake Spade instead.
Cake Spade boasts a colorful spread of delectable cakes and desserts in a cosy small corner of Orchid Hotel. (You might easily miss out if you are not on the look out)
An interesting play on the word Kate Spade, the shop name is printed in big letters on the wall, together with the logo. The spatula used to scoop the cakes out is shaped like a spade too.

Review:
Definitely a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, although it may get a bit squeeze during the peak hours. But that’s not going to stop us from returning! Hence, the next time i return, i am going to try the Strawberry/Peach Tofu cheesecake! :)
